What should I do about a drivers license?
To obtain an international driver’s license, please go to one of the tax branches to issue the license. Please obtain an Israeli license and ID card.
Where do I go for a mobile phone or SIM card?
A SIM card for a cell phone can be purchased at one of the many local telephone and Internet services stores. The major providers include T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint. Many additional subsidiary providers are available.
What type of clothing should we bring?
Bring clothes appropriate for the season.
Our Spring ranges from cool to warm with occasional thunderstorms. During early Spring (March to early April), nights can get chilly.
Summers (June, July, and August) are hot and humid and also include occasional thunderstorms.
Late Autumn (Late September, October, and November) is cooler and can have short periods of hot or cold fronts that include more thunderstorms.
Winter in St. Louis is very cold. If your travels are during the winter months of November – February you will need warm base layers, heavy coats, gloves, winter hats, and sweaters.
In addition to your seasonal clothing, it is important to bring comfortable Summer clothing no matter when you come. The hospital is well heated and the treatments are done more comfortably in loose, light clothing.
If your child is going to have surgeries that are orthopedic, for example, to extend leg tendons, please equip yourself with loose-fitting, elastic-free pants.

What if the the dedicated houses are all already in use?
Possible accommodations include:
The Parkway Hotel (https://www.theparkwayhotel.com/hospital-visitors) has an indoor bridge connecting directly to the hospital so you can walk from the hotel directly to the hospital ward without going outside. This is ideal for families who prefer to stay close to hospitalized family members during the entire procedure. Rooms come in either double bed or single bed and both are equipped for people with disabilities. Showers are spacious and accessible and include additional accessories such as bath chairs and support bars. Even if you or your child is independent on the day after the surgery, when you can wash it is still difficult to stand. Please note that the hotel room does not include a kitchenette, but includes a microwave and mini-fridge. A mini fridge can be ordered free of charge. It is very important when reserving a room at the Parkway Hotel to request a room on the 3rd floor which contains the bridge tot he hospital. The most convenient rooms are located on the left (right side facing the parking lot). The hotel offers a shuttle service for short distances of up to 5 miles.
Chase Park Plaza (https://www.sonesta.com/us/missouri/st-louis/chase-park-plaza-royal-sonesta-st-louis/rooms) is less than a 1-minute walk from the hospital exit, a 2-minute drive away. Shuttles are available to hotel residents at any time required. The rooms at The Chase are slightly higher priced than the Parkway Hotel. They include an in-room kitchen, a movie theatre attached to the hotel, and other upgraded amenities. The difference between the hotels is about $15 to $20 per night.
The Residence Inn By Marriott is located a 12-minute drive from the hospital.

What services are available at the hospital?
The 5th floor of Children’s Hospital hosts a guesthouse (http://www.stlouischildrens.org/patients-families/visiting/hospital-amenities/ronald-mcdonald-family-room) to rest and relax, have a drink or a snack, and even a shower if needed. The lounge is free of charge, you only need to give your name at the entrance.
Can I do laundry at the hospital?
Yes, you can wash and dry laundry during your stay free of charge.
Is there anything for children to do at the hospital?
The 8th floor has a large playground for children.
This sounds like an amazing hospital. What else can I expect?
On the 3rd floor, there is a library for the whole family. The library includes books, magazines, and literature for all ages as well as a media center to scan documents, send emails, etc.
Are pets allowed?
At the time of admission, service animals can be requested. Every day there are volunteer dogs who come to visit hospitalized children. You can request these services from any of the hospital staff in your ward. Pro Tip – the nurses are an invaluable wealth of information and are very helpful.
What about Kosher food?
Kosher food is available in all the major supermarkets. Look for the following Hekshers, OU, OK and others as per your specific observance. What can I do to make sure we have food for Shabbat and Holidays?
Food for Shabbat and holidays can be ordered through kosher catering run by Israelis who live here in the community. The U City Vad will donate at least one Shabbat dinner during your stay. Usually, we provide more than one meal while you are here and do our best to do as much as possible for all of the visiting families.
What are the additional options for Kosher meals?
Every Friday between 10 am and 2 pm. there is a food sale in a synagogue located in the University City neighborhood. There is also a pizzeria that is run by a community house owner. You can order (no deliveries) and come to pick up. Contact Elephant Pizza at 3145138149. St. Louis has a Kosher Indian restaurant (http://www.gokulrestaurant.com/) which is a 10-minute drive from the hospital, hotels, and the community guest houses.
Are there other Israeli or Jewish events in St. Louis?
Of course! We have a program called Scouts on Sundays, live musical performances, and an amazing Israeli community located in and around the Creve, Coeur area, about 15 to 20 minutes from the hospital. The JCS works to bridge the gap between the families living here in St. Louis and the families who are here visiting for medical procedures.

המלון הינו מלון מפואר ביותר. חדר מרווח הכולל :
